This policy explains what the Spectrum iOS app ("the App") collects and why.
The App is operated by Our Engineering Studio ("we", "us").
What we collect
Account — when you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an
identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. You can set your
own display name and profile picture in the App.
Recordings — the audio you record is uploaded to our servers so
the other members of your tape can hear it.
Video stays on your device. Selfie video recorded in the App is
kept locally and is not uploaded to our servers.
Tape data — the name of a tape, the song you chose, who is a
member, and when things were recorded.
Notification token — if you allow notifications, Apple gives us a
device token so we can tell you when someone adds to your tape.
Purchase status — whether you have an active subscription.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal data. We do not
use your recordings to train machine learning models.
Device permissions
Microphone — to record singing.
Camera — to record optional selfie video.
Photos (add only) — to save a finished video to your camera roll.
This is also how sharing to TikTok works: the video is saved first, and TikTok
then picks it up. We cannot read your photo library.
Apple Music — to search for a song to sing along to.
Who else is involved
Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and sign-in.
RevenueCat — handles subscription status.
Apple — sign-in, push notifications, App Store payments.
Google — sign-in, if you choose it.
When you share a finished video to Instagram or TikTok, that video is handed to
those apps and their own privacy policies apply from that point.
How long we keep it
We keep your recordings and tapes until you delete them or delete your account.
Deleting your account removes your profile and the recordings you made.
Your choices
You can change your display name and picture, leave a tape, delete a tape you
created, and delete your account from within the App. To ask for a copy of your
data or for it to be removed, write to us.
Children
The App is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date above.
